The history of chess can be traced back nearly 1500 years. Although the earliest origins are still uncertain, the earliest predecessor of the game probably originated in India. However, a minority of historians believe the game originated in China. From India, the game spread to Persia. When the Arabs conquered Persia, chess was taken up by the Muslim world and subsequently spread to Southern Europe. In Europe, chess evolved into roughly its current form in the 15th century.

In GOODAT, we noticed the importance of chess and how it can impact business thinking positively, we tested it within our team and found great results. Thus, on Monday, March 6th, 2017, we decided to share it with our community. We have invited our friends and made it open to whoever was interested to join us from 5p.m. to 9p.m. Nearly 20 guests and 16 participants joined us with their friends and families from different ages. During the event, we played chess, had chess competitions and gave a presentation on how chess can improve your business as it raises your IQ, sparks your creativity, increases problem-solving skills, teaches planning and foresight and optimizes memory improvement.

Chess is also involved in everyone’s life and behaviours. It teaches you to never rest on your laurels. It helps you to keep thinking, looking for new opportunities and trying to generate new ideas. It also teaches you that in case if you fail, to do so graciously and to try to learn at least one important lesson. In addition, chess teaches you not to get swept up by distractions, to keep your options open and always have an escape route, and sometimes you have to sacrifice in order to achieve a breakthrough.
